Warrington, 38, is a lifelong wrestling fan. “My mom started taking me to wrestling matches when I was four years old,” she said, in a 2012 interview. “Most kids wanted to go to the circus – I wanted to go to wrestling matches. I even had all the action figures.” She began her monthly web-series, Heavy Wrestle, in May 2017, and has since interviewed wrestling icons like Chavo Guerrero Jr., Mick Foley and Jake “The Snake” Roberts.
Warrington will adopt the ring-name “Alicia Taylor” on NXT and begins this weekend at an NXT Live event in Venice, Florida. It was not yet clear at time of writing what her exact responsibilities will be. But, given her background with Heavy Wrestle, she will likely join Cathy Kelley and Sarah Schreiber as a backstage interviewer.
Warrington is an accomplished drummer in a variety of genres and has toured since she was 15. She is a former member of the Canadian pop rock band Lillix and drummed for major pop stars like Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. Since 2014, she has toured with English pop icon Kate Nash, who plays Rhonda Richardson/Britannica on Netflix’s GLOW. Nash, along with her GLOW co-star Britney Young, guested on Heavy Wrestle earlier this year. Mick Foley congratulated Warrington on her new job, as did WWE referees Darryl Sharma and D.A. Brewer.

Warrington is the first addition to the NXT announce team since April 2018, when Sarah Schreiber made her debut during WrestleMania weekend. Former members of the NXT broadcast team who’ve gone on to main roster success include Renee Young, Dasha Fuentes, and the entire SmackDown Live commentary team.
