More people watched NXT Takeover: WarGames 2 than Survivor Series & Raw

Survivor Series is on of the WWE’s big four pay per views, now five with the addition of Money In The Bank. However the Survivor Series pay per view has been a main stay with WWE for over 30 years and still provides an interesting shock that the development brand NXT has brought in more viewers than Survivor Series.

WWE provide their own rating table for the most popular shows on the WWE Network, and last week NXT Takeover Wargames 2 pulled in more viewers than Survivor Series, something that many people wouldn’t have expected.

The top four shows this week on the WWE Network:

1. NXT Takeover: Wargames 2

2. WWE Survivor Series
3. NXT Takeover: Wargames 2 Preshow
4. WWE Chronicle: Dean Ambrose

The most interesting part of the week is showing that NXT Takeover: Wargames 2 had more people inside the Staples Center than Monday Night Raw, despite the NXT show having to deal with having two ring’s within the arena.

There are several reasons why the NXT show would have had more viewers than Survivor Series, one of these reasons could be simply due to the time it takes to watch both shows. NXT running at two and a half hours with Survivor Series running a little over three and a half hours, even with stars such as Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey not enough to stop the developmental talent beating out the main roster.

Becky Lynch’s injury may have also been a factor in Survivor Series not doing as well as intended with a large amount of the fan base being disappoint in the Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch match being cancelled due to injury suffered by Becky Lynch.
